And the award goes to

He shuffled in his seat, waiting to rise up. He composed himself to wave and to smile. Scanned around to see whom he will kiss first...

The presenter opened the envelope, paused for the effect and he half rose in his seat.

“Mathew Mcconaughey”

And he slumped in his seat again before anyone could notice.

How I wished - 55 on friday

She wanted her family to understand. She was back from her husband’s home because her husband used to hit her. However, her family wasn’t ready to accept her again. They were scared that the society would talk about them.

How I wished I could show them the scars on her back and add some sense.

The little surprise

She walked small apprehensive steps. Scared of the darkness around her, she called out to her family but no one answered.
Frustrated at the fact that no one remembered, she walked to kitchen and got herself a glass of water.
Little did she know that the family was ready to surprise her on her birthday.

Oh!I love him - 55 fiction for WOW - a tribute to AR Rahman

Oh! I love him. I said. Yeah! I love him too. My friend shrieked too, echoing my words.
It was hot, humid Sunday and we were waiting for our turn in front of the ticket counter. The ticket vendor handed over the tickets and said Wow! I love him.
It was AR Rahman’s live performance…

My love...

Oh those horses were so beautiful. And those landscapes, they were breathtaking. There I was, I was that horseman and fell in love with him. I extended my hand and touched him, traced his smooth jaw and patted his horse.

And then I turned the page and fell in love with a new page again.

The 55 fiction is based on the above photo prompt provided by Vidya Suri on Write Tribe.

Heartbreaking confusion - 55 fiction

He had come to talk to her for the moment they shared. He had felt something special and wanted to ask if she felt the same.  He heard her talking and paused. She said “It was just bliss”. He mistook it for “It was just a kiss”.

He thought he got his answer and left.

This weeks prompt -

She said ____. He mistook it to be ____.

The words used in the blanks have to rhyme and your post should revolve around the confusion thus created as a result of the miscommunication.

Eyes and heart

She has really pretty eyes. I have told her this several times. However, they aren’t something I would fall for. Today she stood there with expectations in her eyes and I had a sudden urge to laugh just when she was about to cry.
Sadly, not always the heart is as beautiful as eyes are.

**************

I don’t understand why he has to lie and hide things when the truth is fairly simple. He tells me that my eyes are pretty but I know he thinks that I have a heart of stone. I don’t care what he thinks of my eyes but I care what he thinks of my heart.

Love and Mystery

Love

She sat in corner, sobbing continuously for two hours without telling the reason, but when I tried to console her she shooed me away like she would shoo away snoopy when he would irritate her too much, “Shit!” it suddenly stuck me that snoopy was missing, today was the day they took him away.

Mystery

I had been trying to find my diary for hours without success and I was getting really worried when I saw that it had slipped off behind bookshelf, alas! Those two important pages were missing and I turned to see there she was, holding those two pages where I poured my feelings for her.

Above posts are attempt to write a 55 fiction in one sentence based on the guidelines provided at writetribe. I will highly appreciate the critical reviews.
