Review A to Z - Quiz up

My first post for the challenge was done by my brother to Review Apps that he loves. However, there is one that he missed, and it is our new found addiction.

It was a few weeks ago that I downloaded one of the fastest growing games on my phone.

As name suggests, it is a quiz game. You can play against a random opponent or challenge a friend. I guess the best part of this quiz game is that there is a variety of topic. From Geography, to history, brand power, to music and movies… it offers something for all interests.

It is simple to handle and easy to load. Most importantly it is knowledge along with fun. My favorites are grammar and brand facts.

Have you tried Quiz up yet?

Tweeting away- let's compete

We all love games, don't we? We had a good time playing Where is the A?. We had some witty responses and I personally had a tough time to decide a winner based on length. Therefore, I had to ask Corinne to help me out and find the most accurate sentence. We found Awasthi our winner and awarded her a beautiful badge.

Now it's time have some more fun. Here is a new game.

Most of you are on twitter. I am not. Why? Because I find the limit of 140 characters and hash tags challenging. There are so many things to be said and without using abbreviations, it is really difficult to convey the point.

But since all of you are so good at it, why not try it in a contest?

Here are the rules - type a sentence using the key word (from the comment above you) with exact 140 characters (with space) without using any abbreviations, which is grammatically correct and makes sense. When you are done, give a keyword for the person who'll comment next.

We will try to find a judge for this too who can decide the wittiest and accurate post and give away a wonderful badge of "Tweet expert" for your blog.

Another thing - you don't need to hash tag here...

Key word for first comment - Narration (now you know, how to challenge others :p)

Where is the A? Winner announced :D

Remember “Where is the A?” I am sure you do. If you don’t I am slightly disappointed but I will still give you the link to go through it, before you continue here. Click here to read “Where is the A?”

Well I had a great fun playing the little game. Didn’t you? Some of you came up with real innovative sentences and others did some highly intellectual write ups.

In last two weeks, I have read through the comments several times, laughing away to glory at the wittiness of the people around me. I loved it and am sure my judge also did.

It is time to announce our winner – there were a couple of guesses but the winning entry is –

“Life goes on without the letter which begins the string of letters just like it never ever existed, not being missed even once while typing out this sentence, induces one to think we need to look into life from other corners.”

It is done by Aswathi Jerome, popularly known as Pins and Ashes. She has a wonderful blog with the name Vaayadi Pennu ;)

Well, I don’t let my winners go so easily. Therefore, I have asked Aswathi some questions. Here they are –

1. Why the name Pins and Ashes?
2. We know you have an awesome blog. What is it that you love to blog about the most?
3. Do you have a facebook page that we can like?
4. Do you like reading? Blogs or books, your choice?
5. Your top 5 blogging friends?
6. You top 5 favorite blogs? (if possible, give us the link too.)
7. We know that you are awesome at contests and prompts. Anything that you would like us to write about? (in case you have any I will put up a linky)
8. Why the name pins and ashes?
9. Can we please have the link to your favorite post from your blog.
10. A bit more about family, friends and life off blog, if you like.

I am sure we will soon come back with an answer to above questions.

Aswathi here is your button - *Drum rolls please*

Where is the “A”? Time for another game :)

I have been facing some problem with my “A” key. I at least have to press this key twice to get the word right. If you haven’t noticed, I have been trying to use quite few As’ in my posts. It is too much trouble to right click & correct it otherwise.

In previous few weeks I have become bit of an expert in finding words which do not need A.

So here is a little game. Write a single sentence of fifteen words or more without using the word A.

Put your sentence in comment box, the longest entry will win the button to show off.

Just in case you did not notice, the line above this was an example. :P (I am searching for a creative person who can make a nice button for the winner.)

Let’s have some fun friends. Wackier the better. Just make sure it makes sense. You can have multiple attempts too, just for fun.

Update - Corinne Rodrigues has kindly agreed to be the judge for your grammatical errors if any.

Mr. Blackpaws, cat or catalyst (the story from my game...lets weave a story)

So the expirement "The Game" has come to an end. (You can read the post explaining the game here)
As promised, I have complied the story and tried to link up the lines to the blog of authors. Most worked, some didn't. However, I have linked up the profile if nothing else.
At few places (precisely two) I have added a few words and striked off a few, so that the flow could continue...
With this I must say, we have had a wonderful story come up. Hope you like it too. Thank you all for participating. (I feared that it might not turn out to be more than a paragraph)
With that I present to you - Mr. Blackpaws, cat or catalyst (can't think of another title, if you have anything in more suitable please let me know)
