With Delhi
elections around the corner, politics is being discussed at every coffee table.
Today, some
of us were discussing the elections for center that will be held in 2014. There
has been a lot of debate regarding who should be India’s next prime minister.
Of course,
in last five years election commission has done a remarkable job in reforming voting
systems, creating voters ID and making people aware. However, if I could have
it my way, I’d do things differently.
I would
create a system where an individual could vote from anywhere in India
irrespective of his home town.
This post is written for 100 words on Saturday, based on prompt "I'd do things differently"

DeleteUff these smart phone typing the words before I get a chance to!
That's okay Aditi...I keep typing random things.
DeleteVoting from anywhere irrespective of one's hometown that's really a good concept Sugandha. Loved your take on the prompt.
ReplyDeletethere is a provision of postal voting where one can cast vote and send it to election commission by post, you may google for details.
ReplyDeleteIs it so? I will find out more about it.
DeleteYou have made the best use of prompt and presented on the table an important aspect of our democracy : be able to vote from any part of the country. If NRIs can remit money from abroad to their hometown then all the citizens should be able to cast their vote from any nook of India. Geographical distance should be no barrier.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kalpana. :)

ReplyDeleteI agree Kalpana...Gald you liked it.
DeleteHere in the United States you can vote by absentee ballot but you have to send it in way ahead of time. It would be easier to be able to go to any polling place nearby and vote whether you lived nearby or not. ♥
ReplyDeleteHmm....
DeleteWell done. I think it's a brilliant idea Sugandha where election made more user-friendly and also, reaching out to the poor:)

Reaching out to poor? I don't think we haven't reached out to poor.
