Seven places I want to travel to.

This is going to be a tough post. I mean my list of must visit places is so long that it seems impossible to list down top seven. Most of these places, I have been planning forever now. I once read in one of the cards that I should include my travel plans in my prayers and I will get means to fulfill my dreams. So here is an attempt to list down top seven.
1. Rome – Whenever anyone asks me about my dream destination, I answer “Rome”. If you have read/watched Eat pray love, you will know what I am talking about. Italian food, Italian men ;) and Italian culture, along with it Vatican City. I mean I don’t know where else you can pack a trip with so much in one place.

2. Dharali – While Rome is on the list of all international travelers, Dharali should be on the list of all backpackers in India. A small town near Gangotri once offered me a glimpse of ultimate natural beauty. I often compare it to heaven and I want to visit there again. However, with the damage that the cloud bursts have caused, I can only hope that the place is still the same.

3. Gujarat/Rann of Kutch – As far as I am aware, the white Desert is one of its kinds. On top of it, if you have seen Gujarat Tourism advertisement with the Bollywood icon inviting you, you know why I want to go there.

4. Amsterdam – There is no particular reason. Actually the only reason it is here is because I have a good friend there and I keep planning to visit. Hopefully one day I will.

5. Turkey – I have always been intrigued by Islamic culture and Turkey offers a blend of European and Mid-east culture which must be exciting to experience.

6. China – One of the oldest civilizations. Always excited by cultures and history, I would really want to visit the country which is packed with immense history.

7. Russia/ Andaman islands – This one is tough. I can’t pick between Country that has nine different time zones and lowest point of India. I want to travel from west to east of Russia being at different cities at same time of the day whereas I want to see the end point of the country I am born in.

Along with the above here are my top seven recommendations from places I have visited.

1. Varanasi – enchanting, confusing and something that leaves an impression.
2. Rameshwaram – site of three seas meeting each other.
3. Gangtok – Buddhist monasteries, peaceful and high on energy
4. Singapore – Development that shows.
5. Kathmandu – A valley in the lap of Everest
6. Dharali – It is on my must visit list, but I have been there.
7. Rohtang pass – Beautiful, cold and abundance of snow fall.

  2. So many places to see, so little time! Dharali sounds very intriguing. Kathmandu has been on my list since ages too. I feel bad that I haven't seen as much of India as I would have liked to. Every time we visit India, we end up staying with parents. The little time we get is too precious to be spent otherwise. One day, I guess.

    1. Dharali was the quitest and closest to nature I ever felt. I can so understand that Smitha. That's what happens when you are far from home.
